FLORIDA @ CHICAGO
Alatorre (12-8 3.65) vs Yamada (17-12-3.30)
Chicago jumps out to a 2-0 lead in the 2nd, we tied it in the top of the 3rd and Alatorre gives it back in the bottom half before having to come out with a bad back. I go to the youngster Sugihara who quite literally implodes, giving up 5 hits, 2 home runs and somehow just 2 earned runs in getting just 2 outs. Tsunesuke Yamada comes in to stabilize a 4-2 game where he keeps it until the 7th.
A dormant Guiomar Cortezo leads off the top of the 7th with his 1st postseason homer to make it 4-3. A Flores single, followed by a Mendoza single and then a Bursey RBI double all happen in 4 pitches and it's 4-4. Hallamore singles to make it 5-4 before Yamada is pulled. Reliever Jake Hornaday is then greeted by Giobbe Funicello who slams a 3 run homer to cap off a 7 run 7th inning!
Chicago gets 2 back on a Campbell 2 run shot but Brad Turner and Galindo combine to go 2.2 IP on just a hit and a walk to take game 3 9-6.
