May 29th-June 4th

May 20th, 2026: RF Jared Kelenic will head to A+ Jupiter to begin another rehab assignment.

We opened a series hosting the Phillies with Mike Soroka (1-4, 4.93 ERA, 1.62 WHIP) facing Sixto Sanchez (2-3, 5.39 ERA, 1.20 WHIP). The Phillies got 4 in the 7th to take a 5-4 lead, but former Philllie Isaac Nunez hit a 2-run shot off Andrew Cabezas and we held on for a 6-5 win.1

Soroka was okay, 6 innings with 6 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Ignacio Nunez went an inning with 2 hits, a run, and 2 strike outs. Ben Popkin got the win, 0.2 innings with a strikeout. Alhpa Quivers struck ou the side in the 9th to get his 18th save.

Nunez was just 1-for-4 with the big two run homer. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-4 with a three run homer. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with an RBI double in the first. Cole Roederer was 1-for-3 with a run scored and walk. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-2 with 2 runs and 2 walks.

Former Marlin prospect RF Monte Harrison hit three homers in a 7-5 Brewers win over the Mets. Arizona C Raymond Torres was 5-for-5 in a 11-4 win over the Pirates.

May 30th, 2026: I outrighted LF Matt HOgan to AAA.

Game two saw Jake Florence (3-2, 2.73 ERA, 1.63 WHIP) take on a tired Steve Fettig (5-1, 2.52 ERA, 0.91 WHIP). We needed to take advantage of him only being on three days rest instead of four. It took 10 innings before Deshawn Hardamon hit a walk-off single off Andrew Chafin.

Florence went 5, allowing 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks and he struck out 4. Hinojos got a hold, striking out 2 in the 6th. Jorge Moya blew the save, 1.1 innings with 2 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella got the win, pitching the 10th and getting a strikeout. Danny Niewald struck out both hitters he faced to finish the 9th. The waiver claim has a 1.99 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 22 innings this year.

Hardamon, the hero, was 2-for-4 with a walk and solo homer. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-3 with a run scored and hit by pitch. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-4 with a walk and double.

I'm also going to try Kelenic, who's rehabbing, at first base to fill in when he's back for Beer if needed.

May 31st, 2026: Arizona will be without CF Enrique Bradfield for the rest of the year with a ruptured achilles tendon. The former 12th Overall Pick was hitting .325 with 2 homers and 12 RBI's in 80 at bats.

We looked to finish May with a sweep, as Devon Peterson (4-1, 3.39 ERA, 1.25 WHIP) took on Aaron Nola (1-3, 4.44 ERA, 1.36 WHIP). Despite an 8 run fifth, we lost the finale 13-11...

Peterson had a rough outing, 3 innings with 8 hits, 5 runs, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. Brennan Malone also had a tough outing, 2 innings with 5 hits, 4 runs, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. He's really struggled this year, and I wish I could option, but the 3.5/4.5 25-year-old has too much talent to take him off the roster and risk losing him to waivers. Hinojos was also charged with 2 runs off 2 hits and he got a strikeout. Yaung got the loss, 2 runs and 3 hits with 2 walks in 0.1 innings.

Vladdy was a perfect 4-for-4 with 3 runs, 4 RBI's, a walk, and a pair of homers. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a walk and three run homer. Cole Roederer was 2-for-5 with a double and 2 runs. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a run scored and RBI.

Phillies CF Ernesto Arambula hit for the cycle as well. The former Marlin was part of the Mickey Moniak trade back in 2023.

We'd stay homer as Arizona comes to town for four. We'd see most of the rotation, Steven Gingery (7-1, 3.00 ERA), Jean-Christophe Hernandez (4-0, 2.68 ERA), Zach Liginfelter (0-5, 6.13 ERA), and Jhoan Duran (1-6, 6.93 ERA).

June 1st, 2026: We start June ranked 5th in the Power Rankings. At 32-20, we finished May 18-10.

We opened the four game series with Jordan Montgomery (6-1, 2.70 ERA, 0.95 WHIP) taking on Steven Gingery (7-1, 3.00 ERA, 1.19 WHIP). The pitching was brilliant, and we shut the D'Backs out 4-0 to start the series.

Monty went 5, allowing 3 hits, 2 walks, and he struck out jsut 1. Ben Popkin, Ernesto Estrella, Ignacio Hinojos, and Brennan Malone got holds. The pen combined for 4 innings with 3 hits, a walk, and 6 strikeouts.

Junior was 3-for-4 with a double, steal, and RBI. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-5 with a run scored and steal. Jordy Barley hit a pinch hit solo shot in the 9th. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with 2 runs scored. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double.

June 2nd, 2026: I didn't need to free a 40-man spot, but I DFA'd Luis Delgado.

We looked to take game two as well, with Steve Paustian (3-3, 4.12 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) taking on Jean-Christophe Hernandez (4-0, 2.68 ERA, 1.01 WHIP). Who Lazaro Armenteros loves to hit against. He's 7-for-11 with 4 homers in his career against the Canadian righty. The D'Backs got 5 in the 5th and got the win 7-4.

Paustian had a rough outing, 6 hits and 6 runs in 4 innings with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts. Popkin allowed 3 hits and a run in the 6th. Seven other pitchers pitched the last 4 innings with 2 hits, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Quivers struck out the side in the 9th.

Juan Ramirez was 3-for-4 with a run scored and RBI while being a homer away from the cycle. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-4 with a double, run scored, and 2 RBI's. Cole Roederer was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, a walk, and steal. It's gonna be hard optioning him when Kelenic gets back...

July 3rd, 2026: Just a half game out, we could take the division lead with Mike Soroka (1-4, 5.05 ERA, 1.59 WHIP) facing Zach Linginfelter (0-5, 6.13 ERA, 1.44 WHIP). It took 11 innings, but Iestyn Spreckley hit a solo homer off Estrella as they won game three 5-4.

Soroka went 7, allowing 7 hits, 4 runs, 4 walks, and striking out 3. Estrella went 2 with 3 innings, a run, walk, and 3 strikeouts while getting the loss.

Vladdy was 2-for-5 with a walk and two run homer. Dewitt MacGregor was 3-for-5 with a run scored. Cole Roederer was 2-for-4 with a walk, run scored, hit by pitch, and RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-5 with a solo shot. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with two walks.

June 4th, 2026: Fan vote update: Dillard 2nd, Vlad 3rd, and Quivers 5th.

The Indians lost 29-year-old rookie Jake Wong for the year with a stretched elbow ligament. He was 3-1 with a 5.13 ERA in 31.1 innings and he struck out 30.

We needed to work the split with Jake Florence (3-2, 2.81 ERA, 1.65 WHIP) facing Jhoan Duran (1-6, 6.93 ERA, 1.52 WHIP). We got four in the 8th to tie the game, but Michael Brooks hit a go-ahead solo homer in the 9th as the D'Backs, who we can never beat, won 7-6.

To be fair, they are 33-26 this year. But still...

Florence went 5.1, allowing 7 hits, 5 runs (4 earned), 2 walks, and he struck out 5. Brennan Malone allwoed a hit to the only batter who he faced, and he eventually scored. Quivers got the loss, 3 hits and a run in the 9th.

Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-4 with a double, homer, 2 runs, and 3 RBI's. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a double. Cole Roederer was 2-for-5 with 2 runs scored.

After the game, I DFA'd Lewis Brinson to recall Jarred Kelenic from his rehab assignment. Roederer was doing too good to option, and Brinson has really struggled.

Up next, the Amateur Draft!
