CHICAGO SHOPPING STANTON?
Sources within the Chicago organization have let it be known that the Hitmen are shopping 27-year-old Ace RJ Stanton. The hows and whys are unknown but his name was included in a recent offer to another AL club.

“recent offer” was us. Chicago, for some reason, is looking for a catcher and I guess some prospects to bolster their system. They offered us RJ and reliever Mike Spinks, along with a draft pick for Funicello, SP Yasushi Sugihara and 20-year old P prospect Hiroya Ono. Out scouts were far more down on this than I was but I can't place my finger on the why's of the offer other than maybe moving a contract? The guy has 2 Koufax awards, 4 strikeout titles and a ton of other hardware AND is reaching his peak years at just 27.
