All-Star Break
This will be a really short post just covering the All-Star break:
July 10th, 2026: I signed the one International Free Agent I really liked to a max deal of $6.6 million. CF Juan "Tank" Toledo is a Venezuelan who's overall skill potential mirrors Juan Ramirez when I signed him as an Amateur Free Agent. A 5*, he has plus-plus contact and gap power, along with 100 power potential, and a solid eye and avoid strikeout ability. He's got decent foot speed and solid range to stick in center, but he's likely never going to be the best defender. Other players look up to him, and he definitely looks like a future star.
July 11th, 2026: Today is the All-Star game! The NL sent Cubs pitcher Jorge Flores (5-5, 2.38 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) to the mound against Brendan McKay (8-2, 3.36 ERA, 1.14 WHIP) of the Rays. There are a lot of under 4 stars in the lineup today. The NL All-Star team really isn't that much better then my team based purley off ratings.
It was a tight one, but the AL All-Stars edged the NL team 3-2. Jake Florence didn't pitch, but Alpha Quivers pitched the 9th inning. He allowed a hit and got a strikeout. Angels C C.J. Willis was named MVP, 1-for-3 with a two run homer.
July 12th, 2026: I worked on a few trades today, but nothing really materialized. I still have one more day before the break ends.
July 13th, 2026: We remaiend 3rd in the Power Rankings at 53-35.
What's nice is we get to stay home against the Dodgers to start part two of the season. We'll see Walker Buehler (6-6, 3.73 ERA), Kevin Jalbert (6-4, 3.86 ERA), and Robinson Ortiz (3-7, 6.59 ERA).
