- Another reliever down. Jake Grab will miss the next 3-4 weeks with an elbow issue. Nate Bosse is going to be recalled to get an RH bat off the bench and in the OF to spell Saldana/Hayashi vs LHP.
- Oregon State Beat Cal for their 2nd NCAA Title. They won it back in 2000 as well. Cal was shooting for their 1st ever.
- Donte Johnican (Georgia Tech) took home the 2010 Golden Spikes award (.352/.516/.714 with 15 HR) and 19-year-old Freshman Tu-fu Tan of Oregon State took home the NCAA Pitcher of the Year award (8-0 1.39). Johnican was the 9th overall pick this year by the Memphis Blue Sox.
- In high school news, Bob Jones HS played in their 2nd straight HS National Title game and this time came away winners over the Paradise Valley Trojans of Phoenix, Arizona.
