August 12th, 2026: We looked to take the series a game early with Steve Paustian (7-6, 4.36 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) taking on Juan Coira (5-7, 5.39 ERA, 1.59 WHIP). The Rox tied the game at 4 in the 9th and forced extra innings. In the 10th, Dewitt MacGregor hit a walk off single off Juan Torribo, and we won the middle game 5-4.

Hyo-jin Yaung left with a sore elbow, and will head to the DL for likely the minimum.

August 13th, 2026: I recalled Josh Watson from AAA. He was awful in his first taste of the big leagues, but he's been amazing in AAA.

We looked to finish the sweep with the always reliable Jordan Montgomery (9-4, 2.93 ERA, 1.08 WHIP) taking on Jay Groome (7-8, 5.06 ERA, 1.40 WHIP). Reliable isn't how I'd descirbe Monty's performance, and we were down 8-0 after 4 innings. We decided not to give up, and after getting the score closer at 8-6, we doubled our run total in the bottom of the 8th and finished the sweep with a crazy 12-8 win.

Montgomery allowed 8 hits and 6 runs (5 earned) in 3.2 innings with just 1 strikeotu. Brennan Malone tossed 1.1 innings with 3 hits, 2 runs, and 2 walks. The rest of the pen combined for 4 innings with just a single walk and 5 strikeouts. Hinojos got another win, striking out the last batter in the 8th.

The Giants come to town for three before an off day. We'll see Tra'Mayne Blackburn (2-6, 4.39 ERA), Tyler Duffey (1-0, 4.79 ERA), and Madison Bumgarner (6-8, 3.88 ERA).

August 14th, 2026: We opened the Giants series against former #1 Overall Pick Tre'Mayne Blackburn (2-6, 4.39 ERA, 1.46 WHIP). Mike Soroka (5-7, 4.02 ERA, 1.32 WHIP) would face him as we looked to keep rolling. Tied at three in the 9th, the Giants broke ahead to win the opener 6-3.

Soroka had a solid outing, 6.2 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Quivers couldn't get an out, and he walked 2, allowed a hit, and was charged with 3 runs.

Jarred Kelenic was 3-for-4 with a double and a steal. Bobby Williamson was 1-for-3 with a two run homer and a walk. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a double and RBI. Cole Roederer was 1-for-2 with a run scored and two walks.

August 15th, 2026: We looked to even the series back up with a different #1 overall pick Jake Florence (6-6, 3.80 ERA, 1.53 WHIP) facing 35-year-old veteran Tyler Duffey (1-0, 4.79 ERA, 1.35 WHIP). We got three in the sixth and won the middle game 6-4.

Florence didn't really pitch like a #1 overall pick, 3 runs in 2.2 innings with 4 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella tossed 2.1 innings with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Josh Watson got his first big league win, an inning with a hit and 2 strikeouts. Niewald and Hinojos got holds, and Alpha Quivers earned the save. Hinojos allowed a hit and run while getting a strikeouts.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 4-for-5 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, and a double. Jarred Kelenic doubled twice in four at bats with a run scored, RBI, and sac-fly. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a run scored and sac-bunt. Billy Williamson was 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI's and a walk.

August 16th, 2026: We looked to win the series with Devon Peterson (9-5, 4.03 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) facing veteran southpaw Madison Bumgarner (6-8, 3.88 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) who's still going strong at 37. We couldn't score off the three-time champion, and we were shut out 3-0.

Peterson went 5.2 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 8 strikeouts. The pen didn't allow a walk or hit in the last 3/1 innings. Watson (2) and Hinojos (3) struck out all the hitters they faced.

Bobby Williamson was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Peterson was 1-for-1 and is 3-for-3 in his last 2 games. Vladdy came off the bench and wass 1-for-2.

Dodgers CF Brett Phillips hit his 300th career homer in a 4-2 win over the White Sox. The 32-year-old isn't having the best season, but he's a career .252/.329/.509 hitter with 821 RBI's in 1,324 games.

Tomorrow is an off day before we travel to New York to face the Mets.
