Game one
Pittsburgh- Man-keung Yuen (12-6 3.26) @ Florida- Kody Pollock (18-7 4.34)
- Kody Pollock goes 1 IP 6 H 5 ER and Chad Willoughby once again makes a 2nd inning appearance. He goes 5 IP 4 H 1 ER 6 K and leaves with us down 6-0. Yuen gets pulled after a 2 run Hayashi double gets us on the board. At 6-2 Steve Cooke comes in and gives up a run.
- We enter the bottom of 8 down 7-2, and the inning ends with us up 8-7!!
- How?
- Hallamore walks to lead it off. Bursey grounds out. Steve Morris relieves and Chase flies to center. DJ Adams lines a single and Hallamore goes through a stop sign and is barely safe at home, making it 7-3.
- Bobby Ross trots in from the Pen. He promptly walks Funicello on 4 pitches.
- Juan Flores then lines a 3-2 pitch to the left-center gap for a 2 run double making it 7-5.
- Hayashi follows with a run-scoring triple that was inches from being a HR making it 7-6, 2 outs, runner on 3rd.
- Rookie Andy Elizondo steps up, Burgess does NOT pinch hit, and on a 1-2 pitch, the kid hits a 371 foot 2 run home run!
- Turner opens the 9th walking Joe Wendt (just his 2nd walk the entire year vs a LHH). Andy Domingue strikes out on a 3-2 pitch.
- LHH Sincere Preece then lines a single to right center and the Miners have 1st and 2nd 1 out. Galindo trots in to face former Tarpon and Rookie of the Year Harland Daig.
- 4 pitches later he swings and misses at strike 3 for the 2nd out.
- Former Tarpon Pat Peterson comes up, and on a 0-2 pitch hits a 1 hopper to Flores for the games final out and once again a completely improbable comeback and win.
