September 28th, 2026: We remain 2nd in the Power Rankings behind just the Orioles. At 95-63, we are one win away from tieing our single season record for wins.

The Athletics and Braves have clinched playoff spots. The A's at 86-72 are 2.5 games out of first, while Atlanta is 6 games behind us.

We opened our final series of the year, a four game set hostin the Braves, with Jake Florence (8-7, 3.84 ERA, 1.49 WHIP) against Mack Anglin (6-5, 3.28 ERA, 1.21 WHIP). The Braves got the best of us in the opener, winning 7-3.

Florence allowed 4 runs and 5 hits in 5 innings with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. Marc Bjork allowed 3 runs off 2 hits in an inning with a walk and a strikeout.

Billy Williamson was 3-for-5 with a steal and run scored. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Rodolfo Medrano was 1-for-5 with a solo homer. Cole Roederer was 1-for-2 with a walk, hit by pitch, RBI, and a steal. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a steal.

September 29th, 2026: Former 2nd Overall pick Jon Sullivan paritally tore his UCL and will miss most of next season as well as the last few games. He was having a rough season with the Cardinals, 1-14 with a 5.58 ERA.

We looked to even the series with Devon Peterson (13-7, 3.97 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) taking on Ty Madden (11-9, 3.53 ERA, 1.19 WHIP). We had a 4-3 lead, but Josh Crusan hit a three run homer off Ernesto Estrella in the top of the 9th. We got 1 back in the bottom half, but dropped this one 6-5.

Peterson did fine, 6.1 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs, a walk, and 5 strikeouts. Ignacio Hinojos, Sanshiro Onuma, and Joseph Jarneski got holds before Alpha Quivers tried to close it in the 9th. He got a strikeout, allowed a hit, and walk, and both those runners scored on the homer. Estrella was charged with 1 of those runs and a hit, but got 2 strikeouts.

Seth Beer was 2-for-3 with a two run homer, a solo homer, and a walk. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a solo homer. Austin Hendrick was 1-for-4 with a solo homer.

September 30th, 2026: We looked to bounce back with Steve Paustian (10-7, 4.25 ERA, 1.31 WHIP) facing rookie Eric Burtrum (1-1, 1.73 ERA, 0.88 WHIP). Down 5-4 in the 9th, Jhon Solarte hit a two run homer off former Marlin Touki Toussaint and we walked off 6-5 winners to tie our single season win record of 96.

Jarred Kelenic left with an injury. Yay...

Paustian went 6.2 innings with 6 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Yaung allowed 2 runs in 0.1 innings with a hit, walk, and strikeout. Igancio Hinojos got the win, 1.2 innings with 3 strikeouts.

Solarte was 2-for-4 with the game winning two run homer. Deshawn Hardamon was also 2-for-4 with a two run homer. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-2 with a two run homer before leaving with injury. Isaac Nunez was 0-for-2, but he walked twice, scored twice, and got a steal.

October 1st, 2026: Former Marlin Walker Buehler went the whole year without getting an injury until today, when he was diagnosed with a bone spur in his elboe. He's getting surgery and should be healthy by spring training, and since the Dodgers got eliminated, he won't miss any time. Buehler was 14-8 with a 3.43 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP.

Playoff news: Mariners clinched the AL West, Dodgers eliminated like previously noted, and the Padres clinched a playoff spot, but the division is still up for grabs.

Montgomery was supposed to start today,but I gave him the off day in favor of Brennan Malone (3-0, 3.31 ERA, 1.34 WHIP) who'd be making his first big league start against former Marlin farmhand Ken Harty (7-9, 4.47 ERA, 1.20 WHIP). I also gave a lot of regulars the day off. Tied at two in the 9th, Thomas Dillard hit a pinch hit, walk-off single off Jaime Dougherty, and we won the final game of the season 3-2 to win our 97th game of the year.

Malone was great, 8 innings with 6 hits, 2 runs, a walk, and 4 strikeouts. I love him as a reliever, but he may be a decent number four or five starter. Alpha Quivers got the win, pitching the 9th with a hit and 2 strikeouts.

Rodolfo Medrano was 1-for-3 with a two run homer. Malone was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Billy Williamson was 1-for-4 and Jake Taylor was 1-for-3.

Former Marlin SP Joe LaBrie tossed a 1-hit shutout as the Cardinals edged the Brewers 1-0.

October 2nd, 2026: Kelenic will be fine, just a minor oblique strain. The RF finished the year an impressive .308/.405/.504 with 17 homers and 64 RBI's in his first season in Miami. He also stole 21 bases and he tossed 9.1 scorless innings with 5 hits and 9 strikeouts.

Joe Kramer was named Southern League Reliever of the Year. The 23-year-old had 23 saves and a 1.94 ERA with a 1.31 WHIP.

The Padres won the NL West at 88-74, and the Diamondbacks won the Wild Card at 87-75. The playoffs are set, and we'll start the postseason tomorrow!
