Awards, Arbitration, and Pre-Free Agency

From every offseason starting now, I'll start with the "League Evolution" phase now that I am preparing for expansion.

First, I have decided to lower inflation to 1% to 3%.

Next comes to minor league expansion. The following teams will be added as unaffiliated teams:

Clinton Pilots (AAA-International League)
Huntsville Stars (AA-Eastern League)
Albany Senators (AAA-International League)
Scranton Miners (AA-Eastern League)
St. Paul Saints (AAA-International League)
Little Rock Travelers (AA-Southern League)
Winnipeg Goldeyes (AAA-International League)
Memphis Blues (AA-Southern League)

The following affiliates will be adjusted
Scranton WB RailRiders: Wilkes-Barre RailRiders

Perhaps you can guess who the four expansion teams, or at least three of them are?

On to business:

November 2nd, 2026: So my budged was cut to $184 million, and that means I'm going to have to cut a lot of payroll...

Bench Coach Arnie Beyeler and Pitching Coach Juan Nieves have announced thier retirement. My contract was extended for two years at $1.7 million per year. A lot of personell wouldn't re-sign, so I have a lot of moves to do. I promoted AAA Manager Chad Epperson to Bench Coach.

After just 1 year, the Mets fired manager Eric Owens. He went 66-96 in his only year as a big league manager.

The Dodgers fired manager Denis Phipps. It was his first season with the Dodgers, and he was 84-78, and honestly, didn't deserve to get fired.

Here's the arbitration numbers:

SP Steve Paustian (1-year, $2,980,000)
SP Devon Peterson (4-years, $38,540,000)
RP Igancio Hinojos (1-year, $1,970,000)
RP Sanshiro Onuma (Traded to Baltimore for RP Mike Cowell)
RP Ben Popkin (Traded to Pittsburgh for RF Jaheim Tyes)
CL Alpha Quivers (1-year, $9,670,000)
C Thomas Dillard (1-year, $21,620,000)
1B Seth Beer (1-year, $11,980,000)
2B Deshawn Hardamon (1-year, $6,200,000)
SS Jordy Barley (Traded to the Mariners for RP Jared Taylor, CL Esteban Miranda, and RP Jimmy Chapman)
SS Isaac Nunez (1-year, $4,120,000)
LF Cole Roederer (1-year, $2,750,000)
LF Billy Williamson (1-year, $6,960,000)
RF Jared Kelenic (1-year, $9,690,000)

I also offered Mike Soroka the extremely high qualifying offer, and I'm afraid he's going to accept it...

The Mets acquired 1B Spencer Jones and RHP Juan Coira from the Phillies for RHP Francisco Morales. Absolute steal for the Mets, as Morales is the worst player in the deal.

November 10th, 2026: Isaac Nunez was named Gold Glove Winner for shortstop. It's teh second in his young career.

November 11th, 2026: LAA CL Craig Kimbrel (19, 124) and COL CL Juan Toribio (24, 136) were named Reliever of the Year). Alpha Quivers (4, 53) finished in third.

November 12th, 2026: I hited legendary pitching coach Dave Eiland to a 2-year, $700,000 per year contract. He was the Mets pitching coach from 2018-2026 and other then last year, the team ERA was always below 4.00.

RF Jarred Kelenic won a Platinum Stick.

November 13th, 2026: BAL 2B Luke Leto (30, 150) and CHC RF Ben Henning (30, 150) were both unanimous Rookie of the Years.

November 14th, 2026: Tampa manager Don Mattingly and Miami manage Aaron Boone won Manager of the Year. They are the only two managers I have ever had.

Novemebr 15th, 2026: SEA SP Sergio Barreto (30, 210) and PHI SP Jim Gilbert (30, 210) were unanimous Cy Young winners. Alpha Quivers (11) got a few votes.

November 16th, 2026: BAL SS Logan Davidson (23, 385) and SD 1B Matt Olson (19, 357) won MVP. Vladimir Guerrro Jr (56) and Jarred Kelenic (5) got a few votes.

November 18th, 2026: I acquired the heir to Thomas Dillard C Jackson Miller from the Phillies for SP Sergio Monreal.

Miller, 24, is rated a 2.5/4.5 with elite catching defense, speed similar to Dillard, and plus-plus contact and eye. He doesn't have much power, but the lefty/righty will develop into a great extra base hitter and top catcher in the league. The former 13th overall pick from Oregon State was named the #47 prospect in the league.

November 24th, 2026: Mike Soroka thankfully filed for Free Agency, which will start tomorrow!

Sadly, I have no money to spend, and need to cut possibly $50 million. Fun...

That means likely no Vladimir Guerrero Jr...
