April 19th-April 25th

April 19th, 2027: I outrighted 2B Antoni Flores to AAA.

The Power Rankings moved us up to 12th. At 7-5, it's not the best start, but it could be better.

We hosted the Nationals with Devon Peterson (1-0, 3.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP) taking on Kyle Molnar (1-1, 3.48 ERA, 1.74 WHIP). Peterson had a rough start, but the offense scored in every inning except two (not counting the 9th) and we won 9-4.

Deshawn Hardamon left with calf soreness and Daylen Lile was ejected in the 4th for arguing a strike call.

Peterson ended up finishing 7 innings with 7 hits, 4 runs, and 5 strikeouts. Danny Nieawld tossed 1.1 innings with 3 strikeouts.

Thomas Dillard was 1-for-5 with a two run homer. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-5 with 2 runs and a solo homer. Hardamon had an RBI double in his only at bat. Chris Reid was 3-for-5 with 3 runs, an RBI, and a steal. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with a steal, RBI, and walk. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-4 with a run scored, RBI, and a walk. Mac Horvath was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two walks.

April 20th, 2027: The Indians will be without RHP Angel Tiburcio for the year with a stretched elbow ligament. In 4.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs and struck out 2.

The middle game saw Jordan Montgomery (0-1, 4.70 ERA, 1.43 WHIP) face Gage Hinsz (0-1, 14.73 ERA, 2.45 WHIP). There was a lot less runs scored today, and we edged them 3-1.

Monty was almost perfect, 7 innings with 2 hits, a run, and 7 strikeouts. Ignacio Hinojos struck out the side in the 8th and got a hold. Alpha Quivers earned the save with a hit and 2 strikeouts.

Eric Kisela, our Rule-5 pick, was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI's. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a run scored and a steal. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a walk. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored.

I outrighted Gunnar Hoglund to AAA.

April 21st, 2027: 37-year-old veteran southpaw Daniel Coulombe will miss the rest of the year with a torn flexor tendon. In his long career, he's tossed 438 innings good for a 4.73 ERA and 1.50 WHIP, although this is likely the last season of his career.

We looked to finish the sweep with Luis Ardon (1-0, 1.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP) making his first start with us (one with the Mets) this year against Cole Ragans (1-1, 1.93 ERA, 1.07 WHIP). Ardon and the pen were great, and we shut them out 3-0 to win the series 3-0.

Ardon went 5.1 innings with 5 hits, a walk, and 7 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra, Ernesto Estrella, and Riley Ferrell got holds before Alpha Quivers got the save. Alcantra tossed 1.2 innings with a hit and 3 strikeouts.

Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a steal, run scored, and RBI. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a steal and run scored. Mac Horvath was 1-for-2 with 2 walks and a run scored. Ardon was 0-for-1, but drew a walk with the bases loaded.

We're off to Cincy for four with the also 10-5 Reds. We'll see Esteban Aguirre (2-0, 1.31 ERA), Steve Hayes (0-0, 2.93 ERA), Peter Solomon (0-1, 7.56 ERA), and Alan Taylor (1-1, 3.77 ERA).

April 22nd, 2027: We opened the Reds series with Jake Florence (1-1, 3.32 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) taking on rising star Esteban Aguirre (2-0, 1.31 ERA, 0.63 WHIP). I'm definitely jealous of this youngster... He pitched well, but we were able to outlast the Reds 4-2.

Deshawn Hardamon left with another injury, yay... He was 1 day away from recovery and I benched him yesterday.. He's also dropped from 3.5 to 3 star overall and 5 to 3.5 potential. Yay again...

Florence went 6.1 innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, and 7 strikeouts. Danny Niewald got the win, Estrella and Ferrell holds, and Alcantra a save.

Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a solo homer and walk. I really want to extend him, and actually have the money, but I'm worries that it'll handicap me too much and I like Jackson Miller for the future. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-5 with a two run homer. Mac Horvath was 1-for-3 with a walk, steal, and run scored. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-2 with a double.

April 23rd, 2027: We looked to stretch the win streak to five with Steve Paustian (0-1, 9.64 ERA, 1.93 WHIP) looking to heat up against Steve Hayes (0-0, 2.93 ERA, 1.30 WHIP). It was another close one, but they evened the series with a 3-2 win.

Paustian pitched 6.2 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Danny Niewald tossed 1.1 innings with a hit, walk, and strikeout.

Chris Reid was 2-for-5 with a solo homer. Mac Horvath was 1-for-4 with a walk and RBI. Daylen Lile was 1-for-3 with 2 walks.

April 24th, 2027: Hardamon just has a strained rib cage muscle, and will miss about 5 days. No DL stint for him, and I'll just bench him for 5 games.

We looked to re-take the series lead with Devon Peterson (2-0, 3.86 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) taking on Peter Solomon (0-1, 7.56 ERA, 1.20 WHIP). We were firing on all cylinders, and won 9-1.

Peterson tossed 5.2 innings with 3 hits, a run, 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Tylor Megill tossed 2.1 innings with 1 hit, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts.

Isaac Nunez was 3-for-5 with a two run homer. Chris Reid was 2-for-4 with a solo homer, 3 RBI's, and a steal. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-3 with 2 doubles, 2 walks, 2 runs, and an RBI. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with 2 runs, a walk, and a double. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-5 with a run scored, double, and 2 RBI's.

April 25th, 2027: Before he breaks out, I signed 1B Mac Horvath to a 1-year, $5,240,000 contract to cover his final arbitration year. I was worried that it would jump during the season, and that's not something I want to deal with.

We looked to win the finale and the series with Jordan Montgomery (1-1, 3.07 ERA, 0.89 WHIP) taking on Alan Taylor (1-1, 3.27 ERA, 1.12 WHIP). We couldn't score, and they shut us out 1-0. But honestly, a road split with a good team isn't too bad.

Monty went 6 with 3 hits, a run, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts. The pen tossed 2 innings with 2 strikeouts.

Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a walk and steal. Mac Horvath was 1-for-2 with a walk. Daylen Lile was 1-for-3 with a walk and steal.

We're off for two in Minnesota before a needed off day. We'll see Liam Norris (0-1, 2.40 ERA) and Jeremy Hyenk (2-1, 2.35 ERA).
