April 26th-May 2nd

April 26th, 2027: At 12-7, we are 1 game out of first and up to 9th in the Power Rankings.

The Rays and Mariners made an April trade, with RF Mike Siani and RHP B.J. Baker heading to the Mariners for RHP Mitchell White. This is actually a pretty big trade, and I like it for both teams.

We opened the quick two game set with Luis Ardon (2-0, 0.79 ERA, 1.15 WHIP) facing Liam Norris (0-1, 2.40 ERA, 1.00 WHIP). Up 3-2, Royce Lewis tied up the game with a RBI Double off Alpha Quivers. Fast foward to the 15th, we got 4 runs and won the opener 7-3 in a 5 hour and 20 minute game.

Ardon went 6.1 innings with 7 hits, 2 runs, and 6 strikeouts. Ignacio Hinojos went 1.2 innings with 2 strikeouts while earning the hold. Quivers blew the save, a hit, run, and walk in the 9th. Riley Ferrell went 3 innings with 2 hits and 2 strikeouts in extras. Luis Alcantra got the win, 2.2 perfect innings with 3 strikeouts.

Jarred Kelenic went 2-for-7 with a two run homer. Thomas Dillard went 1-for-5 with a run scored, walk, and double. Eric Kisela was 1-for-3 with a double, run scored, and 2 RBI's. Chris Reid was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Typhrese Ephron was 1-for-5 with 2 runs, a walk, and a steal.

April 27th, 2027: The Rays will be without RHP David Bednar for the year with bone chips in his elbow. He made 7 relif appearence with 5.2 innings with a 7.94 ERA and 6 strikeouts.

We looked to finish the quick two game series with Jake Florence (1-1, 3.20 ERA, 1.11 WHIP) taking on Jeremy Hynek (2-1, 2.35 ERA, 0.87 WHIP). The team is extremely tired, so a lot of becnh players took the field. We score in 8 of 9 innings, and won the finale 12-3.

Florence tossed 5 innings with 2 hits, a run, 3 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Marc Bjork tossed 2 innings with 3 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Tylor Megill tossed 2 innings with 2 hits, a run, and 2 strikeouts.

Juan Ramirez was 3-for-6 with 3 runs, a solo homer, and a steal. Eric Kisela went 3-for-5 with 3 doubles, a steal, a run scored, a walk, and 3 RBI's. Jon Reid went 2-for-4 with a sac fly and 3 RBI's. Jake Taylor was 2-for-5 with 2 RBI's. Chris Reid was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, a walk, a double, an RBI, and a hit by pitch. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-3 with 3 runs, an RBI, 3 walks, and 2 steals. Mac Horvath was 1-for-5 with 2 runs, a walk, and a steal.

Tomorrow is an off day as we head home.

April 28th, 2027: FormerMarlin RHP Shane Smith is out for the year with a damaged elbow ligament. He was 2-0 with a 2.61 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 10.1 innings.

We'll host the Cubs for four games, facing Pablo Ochoa (2-1, 5.03 ERA), Graeme Stinson (2-0, 2.70 ERA), A.J. Puckett (1-2, 5.17 ERA), and Jorge Flores (2-1, 2.93 ERA).

April 29th, 2027: We opened the four game set with Steve Paustian (0-2, 7.84 ERA, 1.69 WHIP) taking on Pablo Ochoa (2-1, 5.03 ERA, 1.42 WHIP). We stayed hot with a 6-3 victory to start the series.

Chris Reid was hit in the head, and left for precautionary reasons.

Paustian went 7.1 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers got the save, a hit and strikeout in the 9th.

Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a two run homer, 2 runs scored, and a walk. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-3 with a double, run scored, and walk. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-4 with a run scored and RBI.

April 30th, 2027: We looked to finish April strong, with Devon Peterson (3-0, 3.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) taking on Graeme Stinson (2-0, 2.70 ERA, 0.99 WHIP. The Cubs got six in the second, and thankfully, that was it, and we edged them 7-6.

Peterson went 2 innings with 5 hits, 6 runs (5 earned), 3 walks, and 3 strikeotus. The rest of the pen tossed 7 innings with 5 hits, 3 walks, and 9 strikeouts. Every Marlin pitcher got a strikeout. Tylor Megill went 2.2 innings with a hit, 2 walks, and a strikeout. Danny Niewald got the win, a strikeout of the only batter he faced. Alpha Quivers got the save, 2 hits and a strikeout.

Yankees starter Mitch Hart tossed a no-hitter with 9 strikeouts and 3 walks in an 8-0 win over the Jays. The former 28th overall pick is rated a 4/4.5\ and is in his 4th season at just 25. He's 1-0 with a 1.63 ERA and 0.83 WHIP.

May 1st, 2027: Down in New Orleans, 3B Ben Davis was named American Confrence Batter of the Month, hitting .398 with 5 homers and 26 RBI's. His teammate, Logan Shore, was Pitcher of the Month, going 4-0 with a 2.73 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 29.2 innings.

We looked to keep rolling with former teammates and "co-captains" Jordan Montgomery (1-2, 2.61 ERA, 0.92 WHIP) and A.J. Puckett (1-2, 5.17 ERA, 1.72 WHIP) squared off. We got four quick runs and won 7-4.

Jarred Kelenic left with back tightness, and will head to the DL for likely the minimum.

Montgomery went 5 innings with 4 hits, a run, a walk, and 8 strikeouts. Luis Alcantra allowed a hit, 2 walks, and three runs without getting an out. Riley Ferrell, Ignacio Hinojos, and Danny Niewald got holds, while Ernesto Estrella got a 2 inning save.

Thomas Dillard went 1-for-3 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, a walk, and homer. Jhon Solarte hit a pinch hit solo homer in the 5th. Juan Ramirez went 1-for-3 with 2 runs, an RBI, walk, and double. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

May 2nd, 2027: I recalled 1B Spencer Jones form AAA to replace Kelenic.

We looked to finish off the four game sweep with Luis Ardon (2-0, 1.53 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) facing Jorge Flores (2-1, 2.93 ERA, 0.85 WHIP). The pitching was amazing on both sides, with both offenses recording just 3 hits. Luckily, we got the only run in the game, and we finished the sweep with a 1-0 dub.

Ardon went the distance, tossing a 3-hit shutout with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. Just think this dude was a waiver claim.

Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-2 with a walk and solo homer. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a double. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-3.

Dodgers 1B Guillermo Tatis hit three homers in a 15-6 win over the Brewers.

The Mets come to town for three. We'll see Noah Syndergaard (3-2, 2.97 ERA), Tyler Mahle (2-2, 10.67 ERA), and Brady Singer (1-2, 4.21 ERA).
