May 17th-May 23rd

May 17th, 2027: Down in Greensboro, 3B Juan Sagarra was named Player of the Week. He hit .524 with 9 RBI's.

Rays superstar Jacob Faria signed a 4-year, $93.6 million extension. The lontime Tampa Ace is 105-71 with a 3.52 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. The 2-time Cy Young winner and 5-Time All-Star has lead the league in strikeouts 5 ties, WHIP twice, K/9 5 times, starts three times, wins once, and pWAR twice.

We dropped farther down to 4th in the Power Rankings, and we sit at 24-14, trailing the Phillies by 2.5 games.

We headed home to face the Reds for three. We'll see Alan Taylor (2-1, 2.41 ERA), Mike Kuhns (3-1, 3.41 ERA), and Esteban Aguirre (3-1, 3.30 ERA).

May 18th, 2027: We opened the series hosting the Reds in a sold out Marlins Park with former Red Ignacio Hinojos (1-0, 4.43 ERA, 1.28 WHIP) facing Alan Taylor (2-1, 2.41 ERA, 1.07 WHIP). It was a tight one, but we managed to edged them 7-6 to take the opener after Alpha Quivers got his former teammate Mickey Moniak to ground into a double play to end the game.

Hinojos pitched really well, 5 innings with a hit, run, 3 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella didn't, 4 runs off 3 hits and a walk in 0.2 innings. Cho-yeong Hyoun got the win, 1.1 innings with a hit and 2 strikeouts. Danny Niewald allowed a hit that later scored to the only batter he faced. Riley Fererll for the hold and Alpha Quivers the save.

Dayle Lile was a perfect 3-for-3 with 2 runs, a walk, RBI, double, and steal. Jarred Kelenic was 3-for-4 with a homer and 3 RBI's. Mac Horvath was 2-for-4 with a steal. Deshawn Hardamon was a perfect 2-for-2 with a double, 3 runs, and a walk. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a double, sac-fly, and 3 RBI's.

Rockies RF Art Bryant extended his hit strak to 20 games. The former Marlin minor leaguer is hitting .426 with 5 homers and 30 RBI's this year.

May 19th, 2027: Arizona lefty Nick Bennett is out for the year with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. The rookie is 1-1 in 2 starts with a 5.25 ERA and 1.00 WHIP.

We looked to keep winning with Jake Florence (3-2, 2.81 ERA, 1.19 WHIP) taking on Mike Kuhns (3-1, 3.41 ERA, 1.01 WHIP). We just really didn't play well, and were topped 6-2, despite outhitting them 10-7.

Florence went 4.1 innings with 4 hits, 4 runs, 4 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Tylor Megill tossed 2.2 innings with 3 hits, 2 runs, and 3 strikeouts.

Juan Ramirez was 3-for-5 with a double and RBI. Eric Kisela had a pinch hit solo homer in the 9th. Matt Hogan had a pinch hit single in the 7th and scored later. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-5. Daylen Lile was 1-for-3 with 2 walks.

And just like that Bryant's hit streak is ended at 20.

May 20th, 2027: We looked to win the finale with Luis Ardon (3-1, 2.33 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) facing Esteban Aguirre (3-1, 3.30 ERA, 1.05 WHIP). It was a close one, but they edged us 5-4 to take the series.

Arizona comes to town next, and they are just 18-23 this year. I needed revenge against them really bad, and they'd send Zach Linginfelter (1-3, 5.02 ERA), Stephen Ridings (2-0, 9.82 ERA), and Jean-Christophe Hernandez (5-1, 2.36 ERA) to the mound.

May 21st, 2027: We opened the series against Arizona with Steve Paustian (2-2, 4.82 ERA, 1.48 WHIP) facing Zach Linginfelter (1-3, 5.02 ERA, 1.40 WHIP). Paustian was great, and we topped them 3-1 to start the series.

Paustian went 8, allowing 5 hits, 4 walks, and a run while striking out 4. He also hit 2-for-3. Alpha Quivers allowed a hit, but struck out the side in the 9th to earn the save.

Thomas Dillard was 2-for-3 with a walk, 2 doubles, and a run scored. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-4 with a doule and two run homer. Eric Kisela was 1-for-3 with a double and RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a double.

May 22nd, 2027: We looked to take the middle game as well with Devon Peterson (5-1, 4.30 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) facing Jean-Christophe Hernandez (5-1, 2.36 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) who is having a really good season. He was brilliant today, and they shut us out 4-0...

Peterson went 6 with 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Danny Niewald was charged with 2 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and a strikeout in 0.2 innings.

Chris Reid was 2-for-4 with a double. Mac Horvath was 1-for-3 with a walk. Jake Taylor and Deshawn Hardamon were both 1-for-3.

May 23rd, 2027: We needed to win the series with Ignacio Hinojos (1-0, 3.91 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) facing Steven Gingery (4-5, 5.19 ERA, 1.43 WHIP). Down 5-4 in the 9th, THomas Dillard hit a walk-off two rum double with Josh Brown pitching and we won the finale 6-5!

Hinojos went 5.1 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Matt Hogan tossed 1.2 innings with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Riley Ferrell hit the only batter he faced, and he later scored. Danny Niewald walked the only batter he faced, who also scored. Alpha Quivers got the win, striking out 2 in the 9th.

Mac Horvath was a perfect 4-for-4 with 2 runs, a walk, and RBI. Daylen Lile was 3-for-5 with a run scored. Dillard was 1-for-4 with a walk and the walk off double. The first place Phillies come to town for three before an off day. We'll face Jim Gilbert (4-2, 3.20 ERA), Josh Weske (4-1, 5.14 ERA), and Steve Fettig (4-2, 5.48 ERA) as we look to make up ground in the division race.
