May 24th-May 30th
May 24th, 2027: To make things fit better with the scheudle, I moved the Amateur Draft to June 6th.
At 27-17, we remained 4th in the Power Rannkings.
We hosted the Phillies for a three game set with Jake Florence (3-3, 3.27 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) taking on Jim Gilbert (4-2, 3.20 ERA, 1.03 WHIP). Tied at one in the 9th, Jhon Solarte was walked by Sergio Monreal in the 9th and we won 2-1.
Florence went 6 innings with 2 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. The pen went 3 innings with a hit, walk, and 5 strikeotus. Alpha Quivers got the win, an inning with a strikeout.
We only had 3 hits, but we walked 7 times. Jarred Kelenic went 2-for-4 with a double. Mac Horvath was 1-for-2 with a run scored, a steal, and 2 walks.
Jacksonville 3B Juan Romo hit for the cycle in a 12-11 win over the Jackson Generals.
Giants 2B Nick Allen was 5-for-6 in a 7-5 loss to the Nationals.
May 25th, 2027: Giants righty Pat Light will be out for the year with radial nerve compression. He tossed 22 innings with a 4.09 ERA and he struck out 24.
Luis Ardon (3-1, 2.98 ERA, 1.28 WHIP) looked to bounce back against former Marlin 1st Rounder Josh Weske (4-1, 5.14 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) who's had a rough stretch as well. Most of the scoring was late, and the Phillies evened the series with a 6-2 win.
Ardon pitched well, 6 innings with 4 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts. Marc Bjork blew the save, an inning with 3 hits, a run, and a walk. Tylor Megill got the loss 2 hits and 2 runs with a strikeout. Cho-yeong Hyoun allowed 2 runs and 4 hits with 1 walk in an inning.
Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with a double. Daylen Lile was 1-for-3 with 2 walks, a steal, and a run scored. Mac Horvath was 2-for-3 with a sac-fly. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a steal and RBI. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a run scored.
New Orleans C Jackson Miller went 2-for-4 to extend his hit streak to 20. The young catcher looks posied to force his way into the lineup, hitting .350/.428/.443 in 140 at bats.
May 26th, 2027: We looked to win the series with Steve Paustian (3-2, 4.28 ERA, 1.43 WHIP) taking on Steve Fettig (4-2, 5.48 ERA, 1.59 WHIP). We struggled to do just about everything, and lost the finale 7-2...
Paustian went 5.2 innings with 6 hits, 4 runs (3 earned), 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Marc Bjork allowed 2 runs and 2 hits in an inning while getting 1 strikeout. Tylor Megill went an inning with 4 hits, a run, and 2 strikeouts.
Eric Kisela was 1-for-3 with a walk and two run homer. It was the only hit all game...
Luckily, we get tomorrow off, and that is when All-Star voting opens.
May 27th, 2027: We're off to Chicago for three with the White Sox. We'll see Jackson Gillis (2-5, 3.95 ERA), Santiago Elizondo (2-4, 4.82 ERA), and Jake Baker (4-2, 3.59 ERA).
May 28th, 2027: We opened the series at Guaranteed Rate Field with Devon Peterson (5-2, 4.15 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) facing Jackson Gillis (2-5, 3.95 ERA, 1.34 WHIP). We got to use the DH today since it was an American League game. We got four in the first, but so did they. After 8 full, we were down 11-10, but Juan Ramirez got a game tieing RBI single. In the 10th, both teams managed to score 10 in this pitchers duel. Now 13-13, we decided we wouldn't let them back into the game again, scoring a touchdown and two point conversion to win the opener 21-13. Yes, we won 21-13 in 11 innings.
Wow! That wwas a crazy one!
Peterson wishes it didn't happen, 2.2 innings with 7 hits, 8 run, 4 walks, and 3 strikeotus. Hyoun allowed a hit and run in 2.1 innings with a walk and 2 strikeouts. Jarred Kelenic allowed 2 htis, 2 runs, and 2 walks while getting a strikeout. Alpha Quivers went 2 innings, the 9th and 10th, allowing 3 hits 2 runs (1 earned, so it shouldn't have gotten to the 11th...) a walk, and 3 strike outs.
There was a lot of offense, as Ramirez was the only hitter who didn't have more then one hit! Even Eric Kisela, who came off the bench, was 2-for-2 with 2 doubles, 2 runs, and an RBI. Thomas Dillard was 3-for-6 with 2 runs, 5 RBI's, a walk, and a homer. Isaac Nunez was 3-for-5 with 2 runs, 3 RBI's, a walk, steal, and sac-fly. Jon Reid was 3-for-6 with 3 runs scored. May 29th, 2027: We looked to try to not allow a ton of runs in game two, with Ignacio Hinojos (1-0, 4.11 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) taking on Santiago Elizondo (2-4, 4.82 ERA, 1.35 WHIP). It was another extra inning game, but Jarred Kelenic managed a solo homer in the 10th, so we could finish the game 6-5 after 10 innings.
Hinojos went 3.2 innings with 4 hits, 5 runs (2 earned...), and 5 strikeouts. The pen tossed 6.1 hitless innings with just 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella got the win and Alpha Quivers got the save.

Miller's hit streak was snapped at 21.

The finale saw Jake Florence (3-3, 3.09 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) face Jake Baker (4-2, 3.59 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) and the team that took Florence #1 overall back in 2020. We scored 6 in the 6th and we won the finale 7-5.
Florence went 5.1 innings with 6 hits, 5 runs, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Marc Bjork and Luis Alcantra got holds and Riley Ferrell earned a 2 inning save.
