  • Two former Tarpon players were traded for each other today. Former closer Ernesto Galindo along with a prospect was sent from Denver to Texas for former Tarpon 3B Luis Salinas. Both are having outstanding seasons with Galindo at 0-3 12 Saves 1.90 and Salinas is hitting .358 with 2 HR and 38. Texas is 7 games up on San Antonio in the NL Central while Denver is 9 games in back of Vegas and 2.5 behind Memphis for the 2nd WC spot in the AL.

  • San Diego's Bobby Ruppe continues his push for the 2011 Hank Aaron award. The Missions lost to San Antonio today but it wasn't his fault. He went 5-5 with 2 solo HR's.
  • 26 year old Toshiichi Ono (NE) struck out a career high 15 Buffalo Nickels in a 5-2 win.
  • Jonathan Claypool (STL) beat Minnesota 5-0 and he struck out 10 while walking 1. He's 5-5 4.91.
  • Former Tarpon Seb Broomhall (SF) shut out Texas on 6 hits 4-0. He's 6-6 5.09
  • Top pitching prospect Arturo Flores went down in mid-May with a back issue. He returned today firing 7.2 innings scattering 11 hits to win 4-2. Hopefully, he'll get 15 or so more starts before the year ends. He's likely going to be one of the starting 5 next year given our financial situation and our starting rotation.

  • Seikichi Matsuda (BRK) tossed his 2nd shutout in 3 starts beating Minnesota 5-0. He's 10-4 2.49
