I say start him today in lieu of Syndergaard, because last year's Anthony Rendon Game (6-6, 3 HR, 2B, 10 RBI in a 23-5 massacre) was also a Syndergaard start. I say give Reyes the chance to be a reverse-engineered, latter-day Rick Ankiel, just with more success. They have more in common than you might think, given that both dragged their carcasses onto the Mets roster before finally giving up their major league ghosts...
