Championship Series and World Series
October 15th, 2027: The Twins hosted the Royals in Game 1 of the ACLS. The hosts eeked out a 3-2 win to start the series. Chad Bradenburg started the game for Minnesota, 5.2 innings with 6 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Jeff Hoffman started the game for Kansas City, 5 innings with 5 hits, 2 runs, a walk, and 6 strikeouts. Neither got a decision. Royals LF Alfredo Ordocia was 2-for-4 with a two run homer in the third.
October 16th, 2027: The Phillies hosted the Reds in Game 1 of the NLCS, and the Reds took a quick 5-0 lead. They got 4 in the 8th, and 1 more in the 9th to tie it. In the 11th, Adan Haseley hit a walk-off single to finish a 6-5 comeback win. Reds starter Esteban Aguirre tossed 5 innings with 4 hits, 5 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Phillies CF and another former Marlin Ernesto Arambula was 3-for-4 with a double, run scored, and 2 walks.
The Royals evened up the series with a 4-1 win. Christopher A. Reynolds got the win, 5 innings with 5 hits, a walk, and 3 strikeouts.
October 17th, 2027: Not that it matters, but I activated Devon Peterson from the DL.
The NLCS game two had more action. The Reds took an early 3-0 lead in the first, and the Phillies got a run back in the 1st. The Phillies rallied back for 3 in the 8th, and took the second game 4-3. Steve Hayes of the Reds tossed 6 innings with 3 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-4 with a three run homer in the loss. Xavier Carter was 2-for-4 with a three run homer in the win.
October 18th, 2027: The Angels extended LF Mike Trout to a 3-year, $71,600,000 contract with a 550 plate appearence vesting option for 2030. The longtime Angel is a career .291/.410/.559 hitter with 537 hoemrs and 1,540 RBI's while worth a total of 97.4 WAR.
Game three of the ALCS took place in Kansas City, and they took a 2-1 lead with a 5-3 victory. Chris Helmick tossed 6.2 innings with 8 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts in the win. Isaac Paredes was a perfect 3-for-3 with a homer, 3 RBI's, and a walk. Twins RF Jesus Alastre was 3-for-3 with a walk and run scored.
October 19th, 2027: The Phillies are just 1 game away from the World Series, as they won game three 5-1 in Cincinnati. Jim Gilbert tossed 6 innings with 7 hits, a run, walk, and 6 strikeouts in the win.
Kansas City took a 3-1 lead with a 6-4 win at homer. Alfredo Ordorica was 3-for-4 with a double and 2 runs. Twins 3B Sincere Lahens was 2-for-4 with a homer, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's.
October 20th, 2027: The Reds avoided elimination, and won game four 8-4. Rafael Devers was 3-for-4 with a double, homer, and 5 RBI's.
The Royals have punched their ticket to the World Series with a 7-0 win. Jeff Hormann (not Hoffman, yikes), tossed 5 innings with 2 hits, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts in the win. Alfredo Ordorica was 2-for-3 with a homer, 2 RBI's, 3 runs, and a walk.
October 21st, 2027: The Phillies will face the Royals, after a 6-4 win. Dusrsun Erbakan tossed 6 innings with 4 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts in the win. Ernesto Arambula was 2-for-4 with a rwo run homer. Ignacio Ramos hit a pinch hit three run homer.
Octoer 26th, 2027: Not sure why it took so long for the World Series to start... The Phillies hosted, but the Royals took the opener 7-5. Jim Gilbert tossed a solid game, but got a no decision, 5 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Tyler Callihan was 3-for-5 with a run scored and RBI in the loss. Lodovico Liatti was 3-for-5 with 4 RBI's, 3 runs, and just a single from the cycle.
October 27th, 2027: I activated Jarred Kelenic from the DL.
The Phillies tied the series with a 5-3 win. Dursan Erbakan tossed 6 scorless innings with 3 hits, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Masyn Winn was 2-for-5 with a three run homer in the win. Alfredo Ordocica was 2-for-5 with a two run homer in the loss.
October 29th, 2027: Game three switched to Kansas City, where the Royals took a 2-1 lead after a 13 inning match. The Royals walked off 5-4 winners. Christopher A. Reynolds tossed 6.2 innings with 3 hits, 4 runs, a walk, and 3 strikeouts while Josh Weske tossed 5.1 innings with 5 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts. Maysn Winn was 1-for-3 with 2 runs and 3 walks.
October 30th, 2027: I had to activate Masron Barnett from the 60-Day DL, so I DFA'd Cole Brannen.
The Royals took a 3-1 lead with a 11-4 win. Francisco Lindor was 4-for-4 with a homer, 2 RBI's, 3 runs, and a walk. Lodovico Liatti was 2-for-4 with a homer, 3 RBI's, and a walk. Axsel Jimenez tossed 5.1 innings with 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts while getting the win.
October 31st, 2027: On the brink of elimination, the game was tied at three when heading to the 9th. In the 11th, the Phillies took a 4-3 lead, before giving it up in the bottom half. In the 12th, they took a 5-4 lead to force game five. Both starters tossed good games. Gilbert went 7 innings with 4 hits, 3 runs, a walk, and 5 strikeouts. Hormann went 5 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs, and 9 strikeouts. Lodovico Liatti was 2-for-5 with two solo homers in a losing effort.
November 1st, 2027: Nesty Cirese needed to be activated from the 60, so I had to DFA Jimmy Turnage.
November 2nd, 2027: THe Astros claimed LF Cole Brannen off waivers. He was going to be a free agent anyways, so it's not really a big loss.
This is it! The Royals are the 2027 champions! They won 4-2 in Philly to win the series 4-2. Dursun Erbakan tossed a solid game, 5.2 innings with 7 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts in the loss. Liatti was 2-for-3 with 2 doubles, an RBI, run, and walk while Parker Meadows was 2-for-3 with a solo homer.
