January 28th, 2028: The presesaon begins today! The Braves announced they extedned Ronald Acuna 5 years, despite him being on the trade block. He'll make $136 million through the length of the deal. He's a career .286/.352/.500 hitter with 225 homers and 813 RBI's to go with 230 steals.

January 31st, 2028: I claimed Juan Zamora off waivers from the Giants and sent him to A Greensboro. The 22-year-old reliever has plus stuff, movement, and control.

The Astros inked RHP Justin Lawrence to a 1-year, $3,640,000 contract. The long time Rockie has a 4.27 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 664.1 innings with 706 strikeouts. His career ERA+ is 114, so expect the ERA numbers to fall now that he's out of Coors Field.

February 6th, 2028: I sent 1B Spencer Jones to the Phillies for SP Juan Maya.

Maya, who turned 24 today, was the 3rd Overall pick in 2024 and the 4th in 2025, both times by the Phillies. He's rated a 1.5/4 and looks like a legit top of the rotation pitcher that I can't afford to let Philadelphia keep. He's got an elite change up, elite stuff, and is a durable arm who can go deep into games. Expect him to be a top prospect in the upcoming year.

February 14th, 2028: I sent C Jakek Taylor to the Rays for CL Sean Clark.

Clark, 19, was selected in the 4th Round last season. He's a borderline starter rated a 4.5*. He's got a ton of stamina out of the pen, elite stuff with an elite fastball and curve (below average change too), but needs to work on his control and movement. He's got a ton of upside, but a lot of developing left.

February 20th, 2028: I signed veteran releiver Trevor Gott to a 2-year contract. The first, he'll earn $2.3 million and the second, a team option at $2.4 million. Rated a 3.5*, he's tossed 770.2 big league innings with a 3.11 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 190 saves, and he's struck out 813.

It was a very uneventful preseason, and we'd start Spring Training next!
