RED SOX, ALL-STARS, ALMOST DEAD EVEN
Who will be the Islandian Pro Alliance champion in 2057?... both Pro Cup finalists, Red Bluff and Elnora, got there with their explosive attacks... neither is known very much for its pitching... they are like two peas in a pod... almost identical on paper... however, they had to have some success on the mound to get to the IPA Pro Cup Finals... from all indications the Red Sox and All-Stars are pretty much dead even... either one of them could come away with its second Pro Cup trophy.
Most of the sentiment in the press is for the Red Bluff Red Sox, but ever so slightly... the sports gurus cite the Red Sox's strength of schedule as the main factor... to win the Tycobbian East division crown, Red Bluff upset mighty Midway in the regular season... in the postseason they have defeated the number-one choice and overall Pro Cup favorite Denton City and third-ranked Turon... Elnora had an easier time with the seventh and eighth-rated St. John Crusaders and the Fort Benton Defenders.
PRO CUP OUTLOOK: In a seven-game series give Red Bluff a very slight edge on Elnora... should be a whale of a series... the winner will be decided by the mound corps... whoever get two starters to stand out will win the series... in just about all categories the teams are just about dead even... the Red Sox have a razor-thin edge... the Red Sox may be better on the hill, but the All-Stars hit much better for average... Red Bluff had the advantage in power... Elnora has a much better on-base percentage... the two clubs are fairly even with good defenses.
