Spring Training

February 26th, 2030: Spring Training starts today, and I brought 58 players to camp.

February 28th, 2030: The Angels signed SS Amed Rosario to a 1-year, $2,840,000 deal. He has a .266/.306/.403 line with 110 homers and 626 RBI's in 5,414 career at bats with the Mets and Giants.

March 4th, 2030: Recent Free Agent acquisition Jhon Vergara will miss the entire season with a damaged elbow ligament. He will likely never take the mound for the Red Sox unless they re-sign him in the future.

March 22nd, 2030: New Diamondback Trevor Rogers is out for the year with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. They acquired him from the White Sox with LF Mike Henessey in exchange for SP's Juan Delgado and Jeff Kelley in the offseason.

March 24th, 2030: New Marlin Rodolfo Solorzano will start the season on the DL with a strained back muscle.

March 25th, 2030: The Pilots signed RF Victor Robles to a 1-year, $3,280,000 contract. The longtime National had a career .258/.345/.415 line with 129 homers, 559 RBI's, and 301 steals in 1,469 games with the Nats. This experience in Seattle will be his first experience in a new organization, as he's been a National since 2013 when he signed as an International Free Agent.

March 26th, 2030: Juan Ramirez will also start the season on the DL with a strained achilles tendon.

March 27th, 2030: The Twins will be without SP Glen Disch for the rest of the year. "Captain Underpants" tore his labrum in his shoulder.

March 29th, 2030: Another outfielder bites the dust with Juan Simental suffering from an oblique strain.

The Dodgers extended starter Robinson Ortiz 6 years for $164,200,000. He's spent his whole career in LA, going 54-56 with a 4.41 ERA and 1.26 WHIP, although the 30-year-old is coming off an excellent season where he was 11-8 with a 3.68 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and he struck out 148 with just 37 walks in 159 innings.

March 30th, 2030: The Dodgers made another cash splash, signign CL Colten Panaranto to a 1-year, $28.6 million deal. He has a 2.02 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and has struck out 314 hitters in 218.1 innings. He also has 90 saves, and has pitched for the Orioles, Nationals, and Padres.

With the Spring done today, I started to perfect the Opening Day roster. The current roster is as follows:

SP Dursun Erbakan (4/4)
SP C.J. Jorgensen (4/4)
SP Steve Paustian (3.5/3.5)
SP Devon Peterson (3.5/3.5)
SP Pat Saitta (4.5/4.5)
RP Ken Adenrian (3/3.5)
RP Luis Alcantra (4/4)
RP Shiro Hiraki (4/4.5)
RP Steve Hudson (4/4)
RP Joe Kramer (3/3.5)
RP C.J. LaFever (4.5/4.5)
RP Juan Toribio (4/4)
CL Chad Scoles (5/5)
C Joey Bart (2/2)
C Jackson Miller (4.5/4.5)
1B Gregorio Alvarenga (3.5/3.5)
1B Mac Horvath (4/4)
2B Jon Reid (3/3.5)
2B Noah Smith (3/3)
3B Fernando Tatis Jr. (4/4)
SS Rogelio Maldonado (3/5)
LF Chi-yong Kym (2/3)
LF Sergio Tello (2/2.5)
LF Omari Tetteh (2/2.5)
RF Ernie Frye (4/4)
RF Parker Meadows (1.5/1.5)

1B Rodolfo Solorzano (3.5/3.5), CF Juan Simental (4/5), and LF Juan Ramirez (5/5) are all on the DL and will replace Maldonado, Kym, and Tetteh when they get healthy. Once those guys are back, this roster is going to be extremely scary, and the minor league depth is really impressive.

2030 should be fun!
