Do AI managers consider stats when making lineups?

I ask because I have recently had to go back to managing my team myself in my game after being the GM only for 8 seasons because the way the manager was filling out the lineups and bullpen roles was driving me insane. For example, my 1B and DH were barely OPS'ing at .600 for the first half the season and the manager would still keep them in the middle of the order. I get that their ratings are high, but since they are in prolonged slumps, maybe move them down until they get their mojo back? Just an idea. Another example, I get that my 80 overall closer is supposed to be a beast, but he is not performing like it, so maybe move him out of that role?

I like the realism of being GM only, but when my manager makes (or doesn't make in this case) any moves at all at the detriment of the team, it drives me insane. So does the AI manager consider stats, or is it just based on ratings when it comes to lineups and bullpen roles?
