A Phillies Dynasty (est. 2018)
Hello, everyone. I will take the 2018 Phillies and hopefully build a dynasty, a World Series win is the goal, but I won't stop after just one. First, some background information about where the team is heading into 2019.
-My 2018 Phillies finished 69-93
-My 2019 Phillies are projected to finish 76-86
My goals heading into the 2018-19 offseason:
-get a star at a positional need
-trade for controllable pitching to stack the bullpen
-trade Cesar Hernandez and Maikel Franco
-sign a stopgap starter to give the ML pitchers more time to develop in AAA
-add positional depth
Major Transactions:
-Traded ML RPs Yacksel Rios and Brandon Leibrandt, as well as ML 1B Zach Green, for CL Blake Treinen in July 2018
-Acquired 3B Josh Donaldson for 3 yrs/$47.2M, with a 4th year Team Option that could make the total deal 4 yrs/$62.9M in December 2018
-Traded 3B Maikel Franco and ML RF Jhailyn Ortiz for CL Raisel Iglesias and ML SS Tripp Shelton in December 2018
-Traded 2B Cesar Hernandez and ML SS Arquimedes Gamboa for RP Felipe Vazquez and ML 3B Oneil Cruz in December 2018
-Acquired SP Brandon McCarthy for 1 yr/$1.6M in December 2018
