PHI vs. BOS
The Phillies would host the defending champion Boston Red Sox for a 2 game series, coming off of winning 3 of 4 against the St. Louis Cardinals in the opening series. The offense would look to continue its strong showing and the pitching would look to keep them in the game as Ben Lively was set to make his season debut.

The wheels fell off of Ben Lively's start in the 4th inning, as he surrendered a 2-run HR to Jackie Bradley Jr., who would go on to have 4 RBI on the day. The real blow came the next inning, when Ben Lively allowed 3 runs, 2 of which came from a HR by opposing pitcher Mike Leake. Ben Lively's RBI wasn't nearly enough to compensate for his poor performance on the mound, and Edubray Ramos surrendered 3 runs in an inning of his own. Scott Kingery went 3 for 4 with an RBI on the day in the loss.

Nola's 6 quality innings were backed by a strong offensive performance across the board. The Phils' offense got the ball rolling as JP Crawford and Rhys Hoskins hit back-to-back HRs in the bottom of the 2nd. However, the Phillies really broke the game open in the bottom of the 4th, as Josh Donaldson's 3-run HR was followed immediately by a solo shot by Scott Kingery, making for the 2nd time Phillies hitters had gone back to back with HRs in the game. JP Crawford had himself a day out of the 5-spot, going 3 for 4 with a walk, 2 RBI, and a solo HR. Andrew Knapp also went 3 for 5 with 4 RBI. The Phillies face concern now, however, as Nick Williams was forced to come out of the game with a back injury after making a throw. It would be a big blow to the offense if one of the 2018 Phillies' 2 All-Stars went on the DL. Luis Garcia, Blake Treinen, and Tommy Hunter combined for 3 scoreless innings in the win. The Phillies will head to New York for 3 with the Mets.
