Currently leader Cleveland and the New York Yankees are looking to distance themselves from the rest. Over in the National League the Pirates and Giants are trying to do the same.

After a dismal 10-18 May, the Senators went out and done some trading. First, SP Bill Donovan (0-2, 5.40) was traded to the Chicago Cubs for SP Tex Covington (1-2, 4.61).
Then a few days later we shipped Covington (0-2, 5.14) and RP Carl Spongberg (0-1, 5.40) for Harry Steiger (0-0. 2.84) from the New York Giants
