Walkers news: May 14 -- St. Louis 9, Quad City 5
Andrew Tholes hit a three-run home run to highlight a four-run top of the 11th inning for the St. Louis River Walkers in a 9-5 win over the Quad City Thunder at 1970 Fenway Park.
Brock Holt already had given St. Louis a 6-5 lead with an RBI single off Kyle Gibson. But two batter later Tholes took Gibson for his first homer of the season and expand the margin to four.
Robinson Cano had connected for an RBI double off Jonathan Holder with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings.
St. Louis had trailed 4-1 early, but had tied it with a three-run sixth highlighted by a two-run triple by Rhys Hoskins.
The Walkers had gone up 5-4 in the seventh, following an RBI double from Andrew Benintendi.
