So many possible ticks it is a wonder we don't all come down with lyme disease.

When the game was designed originally it used a players first MLB year for the draft even if they were 49. There was never a reasonable draft age and there still is not. If you have drafting enabled everybody starts there.

I have no idea how you are getting players in your draft of 1985 debuts if the player did not play in 1985 except retire according to history and players miss seasons were not ticked in my test. Either or both could be the cause.
