Walkers news: August 27 -- Chicago 8, St. Louis 4, Game 2

For the second straight game, St. Louis saw an early multi-run advantage erased as the Chicago G-Men exploded against ace Aaron Nola in an 8-4 win at Wrigley Field, which game them a sweep of a doubleheader.
Manny Pina cranked a three-run homer off Chris O'Grady in the top of the first inning to help stake the River Walkers to a 4-0 lead.
Chicago, however, gradually began to chip away from it against Nola.

Josh Donaldson had an RBI double in the bottom of the first and then drove in Chris Owings with a single in the third.
The G-Men then took Nola to the woodshed in the fourth, scoring six times as the Walkers were reluctant to go to their bullpen after seeing its relief core get major work in a 9-3 loss in the first gamer of the twinbill.
Chicago strung together seven hits in the inning.

Matt Carpenter had the lone multi-run hit with a double which scored the inning's final two runs.
Chris Owings hit a solo homer. Brandon Crawford hit his second triple of the game, driving in a run. Shohei Ohtani and Donaldson both had run-scoring singles.
O'Grady silenced St. Louis for the next three innings before exiting before the start of the fifth.

Seven relievers combined to shutout the River Walkers the rest of the way.
Greinke, who earned the win in the opener in relief, did the same in the nightcap by getting the first out of the seventh inning.
Michael Feliz capped the game with a scoreless eighth and ninth.
