Arthur Goodwin 1905
Goodwin tried out for the Brooklyn Superbas in the spring training of 1905, but did not make the team and pitched for Memphis in the Southern Association that year. On the last day of the major league season, October 7th, he appeared in a game for the New York Highlanders. He pitched to five batters--walking two, giving up two hits, and throwing a wild pitch. He never again appeared in the majors, leaving him with a career ERA of 81.00 in one-third of an inning. He appears below in a formal portrait and an extract from a Brooklyn team photo taken in the spring.
