Walkers news: May 28 -- Madison 6, St. Louis 5

Record: 25-21, 2nd (Tied/w. Cedar Rapids), 6 GB Des Moines
Kevin Kiermeier doubled off St. Louis reliever Bobby Poyner to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning and scored on a one-out single by Brandon Nimmo off Jacob Lindgren, to score the winning run in a 6-5 Madison victory at Comiskey Park.
The loss extended the River Walkers losing streak to six games.
A two-run home run from the Muskies' Mike Zunino off Walkers starting pitcher Luis Gohara highlighted a three-run first for the home team.
But St. Louis hung around and tied it in the top of the fourth, when Jin-hwan Chung hit a two-run homer off Muskies reliever Zach Phillips.
An RBI single from Andrew Benintendi off reliever Drew Steckenrider in the seven inning later put St. Louis ahead 5-4.
Only to see the Muskies even it in the bottom half of the seventh, when pinch-hitter Corey Dickerson ripped a run-scoring triple off reliever Reyes Moronta.
That set the stage for Nimmo's game-winning hit off Lindgren an inning later.
It took seven relievers for Madison to pull out the win after starter Ruby De la Rosa left with two outs in the first inning with wrist soreness.
Luke Jackson (2.2 IP), Phillips (1.1), Juan Minaya (1.0), Steckenrider (1.0), Jared Miller (0.0), Koda Glover (0.1) and Corey Knebel (1.2) combined to finish the game off.
Knebel recorded the final five outs to earn his second win of the season.
