Walkers news: June 31 -- Rockford 1, St. Louis 0

Record: 45-32, 2nd, 3.5 GB Des Moines
Rockford's Adelberto Meija pitched six shutout innings and three relievers combined to finish the job, as the Lightning won 1-0 over St. Louis at Busch Stadium (1997).
Meija allowed three hits during his time on the mound. He struck out two and walked four.
Daniel Robertson, Will Smith and Jimmie Shefry all went an inning apiece to complete the shutout. Sherfy earned his 10th save.
The game's only run came in the top of the second inning when Yonder Alonso cranked a 2-2 pitch from River Walkers starting pitcher Danny Duffy 407-feet into the batter's eye in center field.
Other than that, Duffy may have been better than Meija allowing just the one run in seven innings. He gave up four hits while striking out nine and walking no one.
