Walkers news: Hoskins placed on disabled list;
St. Louis first baseman Rhys Hoskins has been placed on the disabled list after suffering an intercostal strain while running the bases in a 7-5 loss to Madison on July 24.
Hoskins is expected to miss a week and been placed on the disabled list.
The 27-year-old first baseman has been one of the top hitters in the National League this season, batting .294 with 30 homers and 96 RBIs in 90 games.
Filling his spot on the roster will be 24-year-old left-handed hitting first baseman Joe Mundy. In 61 games this season for AAA Memphis, Mundy is batting .,304 with eight homers and 32 RBIs.
