Walkers news -- August 2 -- St. Louis 10, Cedar Rapids 3

Record: 63-42, 2nd, 1 GB Des Moines
Nicky Delmonico broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Cedar Rapids starting pitcher Mashahiro Tanaka in the top of the third inning and St. Louis scored four runs in the fifth to pave the way for a 10-3 win at Shibe Park.
With the win, St. Louis took two of three games in the weekend series.
Reliever Tyler Bashlor loaded the bases to open that top of the fifth.

He then unleashed a wild pitch allowing Andrew Benintendi to score the tie-breaking run.
A walk to Nicky Delmonico then reloaded the bases for Tucker Barnhart, who proceeded to empty the sacks with a double down the left-field line.
That was part of a big day for Barnhart, who was 4 for 5 with a run scored and three RBIs.
The River Walkers closed out the game by scoring single runs in each of the final three innings.
St. Louis got a solid start from Trevor Bauer who allowed two runs in six innings. He gave up six hits while striking out eight and walking one.
It took four relievers -- Reyes Moronta (0.2 IP), Grant Dayton (0.1), Daniel Hudson (1.0) and Bobby Poyner (1.0) --- to close out the win as St. Louis remained a game behind first-place Des Moines in the National League South Division.
