The St. Louis River Walkers have announced the signing of veteran shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria to a two-year extension.
The 31-year-old Hechavarria signed for two-years at $3.2 million per season. The same amount per campaign he was currently making.
While he has not won any Gold Gloves, Hechavarria has to rank among the better defenders in the National League and does what he can at the plate to make it worth him being a starter.
In 2020, the right-handed Hechavarria is hitting .279 with three homers and 35 RBIs in 96 games while mostly batting in the No. 8 position.
