With the season-ending injury to Miguel Solis, the Brewers had to choose between several worthy candidates at AAA Chester to replace him in the bullpen, and went with 24-year old Dave Duncan, who was picked up by the team in mid-June in a straight up trade of relief pitcher prospects that sent Mark Amundson, a formerly high rated prospect, to Charlotte. Duncan is thought of highly by the Brewers scouting staff, who believe he could have a bright future as a set-up man in the WPK.
