So - I actually started having issues with OOTP17 and again with OOTP 18 (and, truth be told, I haven't upgraded since then). Lukas and I had numerous email conversations, and - ultimately - he was right; but the issue still isn't resolved.

I purchased both through the Steam Sale. When I'd launch the application, it would instantly crash. It would try to restart and crash again. Rinse. Repeat.

He suspected it was a driver issue - specifically an OpenGL issue. I've uninstalled and reinstalled my video drivers; sent trace logs, etc. My drivers are all listed as "up-to-date." I have tried to check/update my OpenGL settings; but, there's no easy way to do that.

The only way that works - at this point - is to go to Steam, right-click on the game title and go to Properties; and then, under launch, enter "no3d" as a parameter for the launch. Then, the game DOES launch and run (but, I'm assuming, the graphics aren't nearly as impressive as they were intended).

No idea if this has ever been resolved -- it certainly hasn't been on my side; but at least I can PLAY the game (whereas, before, it didn't even launch).
