Brewers reach century mark in wins
After two consecutive seasons in which the Denver Brewers finished with identical 98-64 records, the team has now recorded a three digit win mark for the first time in franchise history.
With 15 games still remaining in the schedule the Brewers are currently 101-46. The team is on pace to win 111 games, which would easily shatter the previous WPK record of 104 wins, set by the Columbus Whalers in 1969. (Two teams have won 103 games in a season- the Los Angeles Spinners in 1966 and the Jacksonville Wolf Pack in 1970.)
The Brewers magic number is down to 9, although the second place Phoenix Speed Devils have been playing a bit better of late and are on a 3-game winning streak to stay alive, even if their chances of overcoming the Brewers are remote at this point.
The Brewers run differential is a very impressive +259. The team has a pretty sizable lead in both runs scored and runs allowed not just in the MGL but in the WPK overall.
