Walkers news: Sept. 14 -- St. Louis 10, Twin Cities 7

Record: 82-61, 3rd, 3 GB Des Moines
St. Louis jumped out to leads of 4-0 and 9-2, only to have to hang on for a 10-7 win over Twin Cities at Busch Stadium (1997).
With the win, the River Walkers took three of four games in the series, but have dropped into third place in the National League South Division, three-games behind first-place Des Moines.
St. Louis tallied four runs over the first three innings to build its 4-0 lead.
Rhys Hoskins hit an RBI double off Snow Cats starting pitcher Joey Luchessi in the first inning and a solo homer in the third.
Those were sandwiched around a two-run homer from Nicky Delmonico in the second inning.
A two-run homer from Bo Bichette in the fifth inning off Dillon Peters gave St. Louis a 6-2 lead.
An Andrew Benintendi two-run double off Kevin Chapman highlighted a three-run sixth inning for the River Walkers, who now found themselves leading 9-2.
But the Snow Cats snuck back into it.

Colin Moran and Carlos Santana hit solo homers off reliever Danny Duffy in the seventh inning, pulling Twin Cities to within 9-4.
Hoskins second homer of the game, this one off Chapman made it 10-4.
However, the Cats kept on coming.

A two-run double from Jonathan India off Duffy followed by a Chase Vallot run-scoring single off Grant Drayton, all of a sudden made it 10-7 going into the ninth.
The ninth was no picnic for St. Louis.
Anthony Santander reached on a one-out bunt single against Chaz Roe.
J.P. Crawford drew a walk, before Roe struck out Victor Reyes for the second out.
Roe then walked Gregory Polanco to load the bases.
Daniel Hudson was brought into the game to face right-handed hitter India.
He got the job done getting India to fly out to Benintendi in left field to end it.
Luis Gohara earned the win, lasting five innings during which he allowed two runs on 10 hits. He struck out five and walked two.
It took five relievers -- Phil Maton (1.0), Duffy (1.1), Drayton (0.2), Roe (0.2) and Hudson (0.1) -- to finish off the game. Hudson earned his 13th save.
