2063 Season (Bush League)
October/November 2063:
Bush League (Indy): Top-seeded club, the Coney Island Footlongs, swept both of their series on their way to the 2063 Bush League Championship. They easily dispatched the Nolanville ‘Naughts in the Semis before dismantling the Gainesville Gamecocks to win the title.
2063 BL Playoffs:
Championship: Coney Island defeats Gainesville (4-0)
Semi-Finals: Coney Island defeats Nolanville (3-0); Gainesville defeats Beaumont (3-1)
Bush League Player of the Year: LF Connor Wiltshire (Coney Island, 27, 123rd overall pick out of Virginia by the Toronto Reds BC). Wiltshire only played 9 games in the Majors and spent 3 years toiling in the Independent Bush League. He retired at the end of the 2063 season. He clobbered the opposition with 140 hits, 14 doubles, 2 triples, 48 home runs and 107 runs batted in, while hitting .290 and scoring 94 runs for the Hagerstown Hummers in 2063.
Bush League Pitcher of the Year: SP Ace Mitchel (Decatur Donnybrooks, 31, 16th overall pick out of East Carolina by the Phoenix Suns in 2053 (1.9M Signing Bonus)). He spent 7 years in the Phoenix rotation before injuries sapped his abilities. Over the last two years he’s toiled in the Bush Leagues attempting to recapture the form of his youth. Mitchel was spectacular in 28 starting assignments with 6 wins and 12 losses, 162.1 innings, 154 strikeouts and a fine 2.99 ERA. Had to be tough being the 16th overall pick as a pitcher named Ace... especially given that during his 7 years of service time in the MLB, he was not once formally named the Ace of his pitching staff.
