Danny Duffy went the distance tossing a five-hit shutout in St. Louis 5-0 win over Springfield at Olympic Stadium (Montreal).
Making his first start since June 11 when he suffered a strained abdominal injury, he missed four weeks and then spent extended time in the minors, Duffy allowed four singles and a doubles over the nine innings.
He struck out seven and walked three.
The River Walkers did most of their damage in the third inning, putting up four runs.
Bo Bichette did much of the damage with a three-run homer off Springfield starting pitcher Collin McHugh.
Tucker Barnhart hit a solo homer off McHugh in the same inning, making it 4-0.
A long ball also accounted for the Walkers final run, Carlos Arroyo delivering a solo shot off Chris Rearick in the ninth.
