Is it indicative of something or is it just cosmetic?

For example, if I see a guy making a lot of "loud outs" where even his out dots are 90-100+ MPH exit velocity, should I consider that like "he's doing good things, just getting unlucky?"

Is it a good proxy for the BABIP rating?

Did the game always do/consider this and now it's just being shown?

It's cool to see. Even cooler if it isn't just cosmetic and another possible variable/data point to consider when evaluating a talent.
