Walkers news: May 9 -- St. Louis 12, Dayton 0

St. Louis scored single runs in the top of the fourth and sixth innings and then added 10 in the ninth to complete a 12-0 rout of the Fighter Pilots at Memorial Stadium (1986).

With the win, the River Walkers completed a three-game sweep of Dayton winning the final two by the combined score of 22-4 as the Fighter Pilots depleted bullpen was completely out of gas and resorting to use position players on the mound.
In its 12-4 win on May 8, the Walkers had broken open what was a 4-4 game by scoring eight times in both the seventh and eighth innings.
In this one, the Walkers went up 1-0 when Rhys Hoskins led off the fourth with a home run off Dayton starting pitcher Charlie Morton.
The Walkers made it 2-0 in the sixth Adeiny Hechavarria singled with one out off reliever Dovydas Neverauskas and came around to score on an Ender Inciarte single.
The ninth inning 10-run explosion featured a grand slams from Nicky Delmonico and Michael Conforto. It was aided by six walks.
Walkers starter Luiz Gohara worked six shutout innings, allowing six hits while striking out six and walking a pair to earn his third win.
