Think it depends on how much you pay attention to the minors. Most of my time in game years is spent on the minors. Just getting prospects from every where you can imagine.

I do real service time and roster size for milb too. Which means every year you need minimum 35 cuts for the draft class minus injuries. But not counting any free agents, player purchased and trades. I do a lot of deals for nameless minor league players who may or may not ever see the show.

But it builds a strong minor system. Think in my Oakland universe I didn't even realize my AAA, AA , A+ teams all won like 5-7 championships. They were pretty much stacked with any players basically could play in the majors from AAA and AA.

Had no choice as Oakland in 19 even after winning 5 WS in a row I couldn't sell out or draw fans so my revenue was always 28-31. If a player become popular chances are he wanted 25+ million or 15+ in arbitration which meant he had to be dealt for prospects.
