Walkers news: June 9 -- St. Louis 7, Columbus 5

Rhys Hoskins hit a two-run home run off Columbus relief pitcher Homer Martinez with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to overcome a 5-4 deficit and help spur St. Louis to a 7-5 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
With the victory, the River Walkers swept the three-game series with the American League East Division leader.
Michael Conforto had reached on a two-out single off Ramirez. Hoskins hit a 3-2 pitch 401 feet over the left-field wall to put his team in front.
Tucker Barnhart hit a solo homer off Mauricio Cabrera to lead off the eighth, extending the Walkers lead to 7-5.
A two-run top of the seventh inning had put the Golden Bears in front 5-4.
Luis Sardinas drove in both runs with a two-run double off St. Louis reliever John Curtiss.
Earlier, a two-run homer from Pedro Severino in the third inning off St. Louis starting pitcher Danny Duffy had given the Bears a 2-0 lead.
A three-run sixth had put the Walkers in front 4-3.
Reliever Felipe Vazquez had issued bases-loaded walks to Andrew Benintendi and Barnhart.
Adeiny Hechavarria had plated the inning's third run with a single off Archie Bradley.
Duffy worked six innings for St. Louis, giving up three runs on five hits.
Six relievers combined to finish the game off.
Reyes Moronta recorded the final two outs of the seventh inning and first of the eighth to earn his third win.
Tommy Kahnle didn't allow a baserunner in the ninth to earn his 11th save.
