Walkers news: Sept. 10 -- Twin Cities 3, St. Louis 0

Record: 72-68, 4th (Tied/w. Springfield), 4 GB Cedar Rapids
Jacob Jones handled the first five innings and a quartet of relievers took care of the rest as Twin Cities shutout St. Louis 4-0 in the first game of a doubleheader at Busch Stadium (1997).
The doubleheader was necessitated after the opener of the four-game series was rained out.
Jones, who came into the game 5-10 with an ERA of almost 6.00, allowed just two hits in his five innings while striking out seven and walking three.
Erasmo Ramirez (1.1 innings pitched), Michael Mariot (0.2), Tobias Myers (1.0) and Luke Gregerson combined to finish the game.
Gregerson earned his second save. The Snow Cats five pitchers combined to strike out 13 batters.
Twin Cities got its first run in the second when Gleyber Torres singled with one-out single off River Walkers starter Aaron Nola.
A Carlos Santana single moved him to second. A wild pitched perched him on third.
Andrew Kinzer chased him home with a ground out.
The Cats other two runs came in the second. Both the RBIs went to Jonathan India after he tripled off Nola.
