As the 2019 season winds down the North is a two team race with Rochester taking control after a 9-1 stretch that has put Kenosha 4.5 games back. The two rivals will face off for a four game series as the calendar flips to September but the race could be over by then. In the South Canton has all but wrapped up the league title as Springfield and Lafayette fight it out for the wildcard.
Triple Crown Update
Bill Burks may end up with the better all around season but it is Poplar Bluff's Dax Palmer that has all but wrapped up the HBL's second ever hitting triple crown. Burks still leads all three categories but his batting average is down to .389 after spending all summer flirting with .400 and he is just one RBI ahead of Jesse Richmond of Duluth. Palmer could probably sit out the final 20 games of the season and still finish with the triple crown.
Dillon Anderson still has a shot at posting his second Pitching Triple Crown but he's not assured of anything at this point. He's still one win behind Davenport's Nick Robinson and he holds a slim margin in ERA. Mike Landers on the other hand has zero chance of taking home the triple crown due to his anemic strikeout totals. He currently holds sizeable leads in ERA and Wins but his 127 strike outs don't even get him into the South's top 10.
