135 of 162: Game 2 @ PIT – Big series win for the Suns today – a 7-5 barnburner! Patrick Keith got the W after going 6+ with only 3 earned runs and LF Mitchell Cusac finished 2 for 3 with an RBI, 2 runs, and 2 walks. Pittsburgh mounted a mini-comeback in the bottom of the 9th with two runs scored – they needed 4 – and we tasted that sweet, sweet victory against the top NL club for the second game in a row. Donny got a hit batting 6th as our DH, we hit 3 doubles as a team, kept our K’s under 10, and had a single error (leading to an unearned run in the bottom of the 9th – I thought the wheels were coming off). Luca was 2 for 5 with an RBI and a stolen base – he’s been solid but isn’t playing at the clip he was earlier in the season. If he heats up, we could be really dangerous – heck, given the history of this league, if he gets hot we could hard charge our way to a championship.

136 of 162: Game 3 @ PIT – What?!? Be still my beating heart – a sweep… on the road… against the top club in the NL? Check, check, and CHECK. Ash Newman stays studly – finished with a CG, 1 earned performance… Derek Freakin’ Jeter went 4 for 5 with 2 RBI… Norton Manning goes 2 for 4 with a double a HR and 2 RBI… Morgan Heist was a genius during this series – every personnel move worked, the lineup cards were impeccable, every sunflower seed shell made it into the cup… the man is an absolute legend.

This wasn’t supposed to happen – this is just an aberration. Or is it? I’ve built a good club, not great (yet), but good – well balanced, solid fielding, speed… and it feels like it’s starting to come together. We head home for 7 straight (3 against the woeful Philly club and 4 against the surging Orlando club). I’m expecting good results. We’re now tied for 2nd in the NL West and only 1 ½ games behind the San Diego Chargers.

We have a real opportunity now - let's hope our boys make the best of it. I'm legit excited - pleased that my trades may pay some real & nearly immediate dividends.
