Birth Name Piet Wildermeersch
First fought and lost to Pierre Van Deuren in March 1946 by 12 round decision for the Belgium HW Title. They fought a rematch in November 1946, this time Wilde knocking out Van Deuren in the 10th. Wilde successfully defended the title with a 12 round decision over Robert Eugene in April 1948.
In around those Belgium title fights Wilde fought in two European Heavyweight tournaments in 1947 and 1948. The 1947 tourny he beat Pierre Baeken and Giulio De Paolis in the 1st and 2nd rounds before being KO'd in 7 by Robert Eugene in the Semi. After that Wilde lost 3 more fights in a round KO to Stephane Olek and two losses to Carl NIelsen. Wilde broke the bad streak with his title win over Eugene in April 1948. Later the year he participated in another Euro HW tourny, this time winning the 1st round to Albert Coulbaly but got outpointed in 8 by Kurt Schiegl in the 2nd round.
