Today the Giants had Bryan Hickerson (0-0, 5.14), on the hill.

The Braves had Johnny Cash (0-2, 5.00). Not that one.

None of us have ever faced Cash.

I got the first crack at him and I responded by flying out to Milt Thompson in centre.

The Braves struck in the 1st when Thompson scored on an Andres Galarraga sac fly.

Braves lead 1-0

Brad Komminsk took Bryan deep to lead off the bottom of the 2nd.

Braves lead 2-0

I led off the 3rd by dropping one into left for a single. Stolen base #16. I advanced to 3rd on a Mike Aldrete fly. Then Chili Davis tied it up by putting one in the left-centre bleachers.

Game tied 2-2

I led off the 5th by lining out to Gerald Perry in left.
The rest of the inning went better when Mike scored on a Steve Stanicek sac fly, Chile scored on a Rob Deer double, and Rob scored on a Bob Brenly single!

Giants lead 5-2

I made my first defensive play that inning, grabbing a Perry grounder for the 2nd out. Galarraga followed that with a solo homer.

Giants lead 5-3

I came up with two out in the 6th, now facing Brian Fisher. I flew out to Perry again.

The Braves scored in the 6th when Ken Griffey Jr. scored on a Jeff Blauser double. (Right after Griffey's first career hit.)
I handled a Komminsk grounder for the 1st out.

Giants lead 5-4

In the 8th Deer scored on a Brenly double. I grounded out to end the inning.

Giants lead 6-4

Dennis Eckersley came in to pitch in the 8th.

We got more in the 9th. First Mike scored on a Chili double. Then Chili scored on a passed ball and Steve crossed on a Chris Brown ground out.

Giants lead 9-4

In the bottom of the 9th Ron Gant hit a pinch hit homer off of Eck. Eck allowed a couple more hits but no more runs and we had the game.

I went 1 for 5 with a single, a stolen base, and a run scored.

Bryan got his first win.

We are back tied with the Reds for the division lead.

After being up for one game, and not seeing any action, Willie Fraser is back in Phoenix. Terry Mulholland is back up.
