Former Brewer farmhand Jordan Gallardo, who was signed to a minor league contract by the organization when he was a youngster out of the Dominican Republic way back in 1965, is in the midst of a breakout season.
(Spoiler alert: he has just earned his first All-Star selection.)

And he got his name in the papers today with a terrific game against the Brooklyn Aces in which he not only went 4 for 5 but his 4 hits comprised a cycle. He collected the hits in order of difficulty, first picking up the most difficult, the triple, in the 1st inning, homering in the 3rd, hitting a double in the 6th, and finally getting his lone single in the 7th.
Gallardo was always well-liked in his years as a member of the Brewers organization and put up some tremendous numbers in our farm system, but never made it to the big league club due to the over-saturation of talented outfielders in the system. There are a great many in the organization who are very happy to see the hard-working, natural leader achieving success at the highest level.
