Walkers news: April 25 -- Kansas City 5, St. Louis 3

Record: 8-6, 2nd. 0.5 GB Kansas City
Tied 2-2, Kansas City scored once in the top of the sixth inning and twice in the seventh to set the stage for a 5-3 win over St. Louis at Busch Stadium (1997).
For the second game in a row, Joey Gallo homered in the first inning for the Pit Masters, this one a two-run shot off River Walkers starter Argenis Batista.
St. Louis tied it in the fourth when Jean Carmona matched it with a two-run homer of his own, his off K.C. starter Pablo Lopez.
The Masters took the lead for good in the sixth, when Matt Duce and pinch-hitter Tommy Edman smacked consecutive two-out triples off reliever Bill Warson.
Kansas City added two more runs in the seventh when Reyes Moronta ran into trouble.
Coming on with a runner on first, Brian Mundell had led off with a single off Warson, he walked Joey Gallo and then saw Danny Cushing reach on an error by shortstop Andrelton Simmons, loading the bases.
Moronta walked Mookie Betts for the second out.
But Yordan Alvarez followed with a double, scoring two.
St. Louis would get a run back in the bottom of the eighth, Bo Bichette leading off with a homer off Chance Adams.
But that it was all the Walkers would manage.
Lopez (1-2) worked five innings to earn the win, allowing two runs on seven hits.
Dario Alvarez, David Berg, Chance Adams and Nathan Karns all worked an inning to close it out.
Karns notched his first save.
