Walkers news: May 6 -- Twin Cities 2, St. Louis 1, 10 innings

Record: 13-11, 2nd (Tied/w. Kansas City) 1 GB Des Moines
Bradley Zimmer had a pair of big hits, a seventh-inning homer and a double which set the stage for the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning, to help Twin Cities down St. Louis 2-1 at the Metrodome (1996).
Zimmer broke open a scoreless game with his two-out homer off River Walkers starter Argenis Batista with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
St. Louis tied it in the top of the ninth after Nicky Delmonico opening the inning by reaching on an error by Twin Cities first baseman Jake Burger.
He then scored when Michael Toglia doubled off Cats closer Thyago Vieria.
But Twin Cities would win it in the 10th against Walkers reliever Jake Brentz.
Burger opened the inning with a single and moved to third when Zimmer doubled.
Alexis Pantoja came through with the inning's third straight hit, a single to score Burger with the winning run.
Twin Cities starting pitcher Joe Gatto tosssed five shutout innings, allowing just two hits.

The Cats needed to shuffle through eight relievers to finish it off.
Nick Lodolo, Pedro Fernandez, Carlos Alejandro Ramirez and Cody A. Reed all worked an inning apiece.
Tim Hill got the final out of the top of the 10th and with it the win, his second of the season.
